Nectarine
Taste features: Depending on the variety it can be sweet or semi-sour.
Main properties:The nectarine is a round fruit with juicy flesh and a stone, similar to the peach. Out of all the fleshy fruits, the nectarine is one of the highest in vitamin B3. This vitamin plays a role in nutrient metabolism and makes cholesterol easier to break down, reducing the level of cholesterol in the blood. Its peel is soft like a cherry’s and you can eat it peeled or unpeeled.
One nectarine (250 g) will cover the body’s daily need for vitamin C. Its consumption helps improve night vision (after 50, a pigment key to eyesight – rhodopsin – begins to be lost), protect our skin (vitamins A and C), boost the respiratory system (restoring the mucus membrane balance), prevent conjunctivitis (vitamin A) and produce cerebral neurotransmitters.
